National food waste initiatives

There are a number of initiatives and campaigns run by charities to tackle food waste across the UK.
- Love Food Hate Waste and Wasting Food: It’s Out of Date campaigns aim to reduce household waste.
- The Pig Idea is a campaign to encourage the feeding of surplus food that is no longer fit for human consumption to be fed to pigs and chickens.
- Guardians of Grub is an initiative aimed at tackling waste in the hospitality sector.
