Recycling centres

Community recycling centres

On 24 March 2020 Surrey County Council closed all community recycling centres following Government advice about the coronavirus pandemic. They will remain closed until further notice. Please reduce or reuse where possible, and limit clear outs to avoid overfilling your bins – all this will help your bin crews while services come under increasing pressure. Thank you.

You can take garden waste from your garden to a recycling centre in Surrey for free. There are 15 recycling centres in Surrey you can visit, the drop down box has more information. Please reduce or reuse where possible, and try to limit clear outs to avoid overfilling your bins – all this will help your bin crews while services come under increasing pressure. Thank you.

It is important to know if your garden waste is taken to a recycling centre by someone else they could be charged, as this is not a free service for commercial businesses, like paid gardeners.

Make sure you don’t take Japanese Knotweed to a recycling centre, as it can’t be accepted. This is an invasive plant and must be safely disposed of at an appropriately licensed landfill site. See the Government’s guidance for more details.
